A Very Good Year at the Inn…
September 29, 2015
It’s going to be a very good year at the Dutch Village Inn for local fans of Frank Sinatra, who would have turned 100 this year on December 12.
To help celebrate this landmark anniversary for one of the most important music figures of the 20th century, the Inn is sponsoring two special productions honoring Sinatra and his biggest song hits.
“A Tribute to Ol’ Blue Eyes” will be performed live at the Inn on Wednesday, October 7, and Thursday, October 8, at 12:00 pm, by Canton Ohio’s Michael Sonata, one of the most sought-after Sinatra tribute artists in the country.
“His spot-on performance as Frank in voice and stage presence earns him 5-star reviews everywhere he goes,” said Rose Conrad, the Inn’s marketing director and event producer, who added “We’re absolutely thrilled to present these two special matinee performances to local fans and our audiences. They are sure to be show stoppers.”
To make the experience really authentic, according to Conrad, Sonata will arrive at the Inn in a limousine at 11:45 am for each performance and will be welcomed by a group of screaming bobby soxers of all ages in poodle skirts and saddle shoes and will perform some of Frank’s most iconic songs like Summer Wind, I’ve Got You Under My Skin, New York, New York, My Way and many others backed by his own live jazz trio.
The matinee performances feature a delicious plated luncheon prepared on site by the Inn’s talented executive chef and her staff and consists of soup, salad, two meat entrees, three vegetable sides, warm rolls, dessert and coffee, tea and lemonade.
Tickets for both matinees are on sale now, said Conrad, but are going fast. For reservations, call the Inn at 866-482-5050 or order tickets for either matinee online at dasdutchvillage.com/theater.
Tickets are also on sale now at the year-round professional dinner theater for a “Big Band New Year’s Eve” starring Sonata as Sinatra singing to the 12-piece orchestra of the Dave Banks Big Band from 9:00 pm to midnight. An authentic 1940’s supper-club atmosphere will be recreated for an 8:00 pm dinner and then dancing to big-band favorites & Sinatra songs throughout the night and a midnight buffet, toast and live feed from Times Square. A special “Sinatra” overnight hotel room rate will also be offered.
